Eyelid Lifts Encinitas

For a refreshed, rested, more youthful appearance, many patients opt for a simple eyelid lift, rather than a full facelift. In fact, eyelid lifts are becoming the most popular facial cosmetic surgery procedure for both men and women.

Did you know that, in many cases, Medicare will pay for eyelid surgery?

Your eyes are the focal point of your face. Over time, your eyelids begin to develop wrinkles, deep lines and puffiness. In addition, you may have problems with allergies or have a genetic predisposition as contributing factors, all resulting in a marked change in the range of your facial expressiveness and a tired, older appearance. These physical changes can also produce actual visual impairment, as when eyes appear “hooded” your peripheral vision may actually be affected.

“Thank you for the wonderful work you did in improving my appearance through upper and lower blepharoplasty. I received many compliments following my surgery, and was very pleased with the surgery center and all the staff who assisted you; everyone was caring and professional and friendly.”

— Susan W., Del Mar, CA

Today, a remarkable surgical treatment known as blepharoplasty can eliminate many of these problems.

Blepharoplasty can correct sagging eyelids, pouches beneath your eyes, and excess folds around the eyes.

During this surgical procedure, Dr. Kaestner can reshape your upper lid by removing excess skin and fat, or pull an overhanging lid upward.

She can also give your eyes a more almond shape by doing a “corner lift.” The lower lid can also be reshaped by removing skin and fat, as well as tightening the thin tissue under the skin. When you come in for your initial consultation, we suggest you bring a younger photo of yourself that clearly shows your eyes, so you and Dr. Kaestner can decide which areas need the most work.

Whether you want to rid yourself of your “sagging eyelid” genetic legacy, or reverse eye bags and smooth out upper lids, a blepharoplasty eyelid lift may be an excellent choice.

Protect Your Eyes

How can you protect your vision? If you are age 60 or older, you should have your eyes examined through dilated pupils at least once a year. In addition, be sure to wear sunglasses when exposed to the sun to prevent sun damage to the front of the eyes, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
